Oh I am such a slacker. I haven't updated this blog in a very long time, although I think about it often. I have some disappointing news. I am 8 lbs heavier than my last weight in. I am up to 198. :o( Seriously?!?! I never wanted to be this heavy again. I gained 8 lbs over the holidays. Ridiculous. Time to get my butt back on track!! Starting over TODAY!!!!!!!

OK, so I am pretty darn proud of myself and have to brag a little. Normally, when I go to Subway, I get a footlong sandwich because I like to EAT and feel full. Well, today, I decided that instead of eating a footlong which has at least 640 calories (which doesn't include condiments), that I would get the 6 inch and a bag of chips. So instead of eating 640 calories, I consumed 460 calories. I was pretty proud! I also resisted the free cookie that came with my meal and I saved it for my oldest to eat when he gets home from school. So not only did I burn 240 calories this morning on the treadmill, but I also ate 180 calories less than I normally would've eaten at Subway in the past. So I have banked 420 calories today! Woohoo!!! I feel so excited! I know that dinner will be high calorie. We're having chicken parmesan, but I'm making some changes to that recipe as well. Instead of using the entire egg to dip the chicken into for the breadcrumb coating, I am going to just use the egg white. I am also using low-fat cheese and splitting a chicken breast with my husband instead of eating an entire one all by myself. So there are changes being made around here, that's for sure. And I feel like because these changes are small and I'm still not really depriving myself, that they will last.

Soooo....I did a weigh-in this morning how I normally do (no clothes, first thing in the morning) and I was surprised to see that I have lost weight!! Woohoo!! I am sort of thankful that I was so sick over the holidays because it is the only thing that kept me from eating my weight in Buckeyes. I know I've only lost 4 lbs since starting this blog and I still have a very long way to go, but I am trying to see the positives:
1. I did not GAIN weight over the holidays like so many people do.
2. I was not working out during this time, so if I add in exercise, there's no stopping me! :o)
Starting weight: 214 lbs
Current weight: 210.6 lbs
Goal weight: 175 lbs

So I ended up really really sick with strep throat. Worst pain ever, aside from my gallbladder attacks. I never ever want to have strep throat again. I didn't realize that it can be deadly in adults. I see why because I sure felt like I was going to die. I haven't worked out in who knows how long and I survived on milkshakes so I am not even going to step on the scale until I start working out again. Monday morning starts our regular routine where hubby gets up and works out and then he takes over and gets our littlest to school while I work out. I am going online to see if I can find some new workout DVD's so I don't get bored with my treadmill.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's hoping to a thinner me by summer!
