I have been using MyFitnessPal since the beginning of the month and I have only lost one freaking pound. In MFP's defense, it is totally MY fault. I have been slacking on the eating, especially this week. It's been non-stop junk food! Oreos, ice cream, Sour Patch Kids. You name it, I've consumed it. I'm happy to say that I have not gained any weight, but I also have not lost any. So today I am getting back on track. I am logging my calories & my fitness. I took the dog on a walk. We did 1.54 miles in 25 minutes. That's not too bad! It's roughly a 16 minute mile. I sure feel like I'm going pretty fast. Of course this also takes into account the many stops we have to make for the dog to use the bathroom or just sniff around. My goal this week is to get back on track with eating & my water drinking and maybe lose a pound. If not, no biggie. I also need to get back into FitClub. I've missed a few days with other things that we had going on (son had strep, PTO meeting, etc), so I am really itching to get back into it. Wish me luck!

I am getting myself back on track. I am still at 190 lbs, but I am working on getting back into the 180's. I have been attending Fit Club, a program at our church, twice a week and we are doing workouts such as P90X and Insanity. Stuff that makes me super sore! Every time I get sore, my number on the scale goes up. Not permanantly, but for a short time. It's aggrivating, of course! I am just doing what I can to stay healthy & active. I'm doing my best. I need to get back into the routine of logging my WW Points. When I was doing that, weight was coming off like crazy. So that is my goal. My kids are both in school full time now, so I have no excuses!!

Because I like to torture myself, I stepped on the scale this morning. Morning time is when I normally weigh myself and I try to do so without clothing. This morning when I stepped on, I was pleansantly surprised by the number. I was 209.2. That is only 0.2 lbs to go to get to 208! That rocks!!! I think the lowest I can remember weighing in my adult life was 196 lbs, so I am anxious to get there. However, I don't want to push myself too hard or deprive myself too much because then I'm just setting myself up to fail. I really want to be successful in this. I so want to be healthy and feel good about myself. It's more so those reasons that I want to lose weight than to just be "thin".
I was really proud of myself last night and feel I made a really good choice at dinner. We decided to go to Olive Garden since my oldest had basketball practice and we needed to run some errands before hand. So we went to dinner early (4:30pm!). It was awesome because there were no people there! Now I understand why old people go out to dinner early. Anyway, normally when we go to Olive Garden, I get the lunch-size portion of Chicken Alfredo and I get an extra little thing of sauce so I can pour half on my pasta and use the other half to dip breadsticks into. Now we all know that alfredo sauce is like the worst thing you could ever eat if you are hoping to lose weight. In the lunch-size portion alone, there are 990 calories! Insane. That is almost a whole day's worth of calories when you add in salad and breadsticks. So anyway, I decided to do the soup & salad combo and I chose to get the light version of their salad dressing. I really couldn't tell a difference in the taste of the dressing and the kids ate it non-stop like they normally do, so I know they couldn't taste a difference either. So I had one bowl of pasta fagioli (130 calories) and a couple of bowls of salad w/low cal dressing (around 200 calories) and 2 breadsticks (280 calories). So my whole meal was only around 610 calories, give or take a few. I saved myself at least 400 calories, and that isn't even including if I were to eat salad & breadsticks with the chicken alfredo, which I always do.
So even though I haven't lost tons of weight, I'm proud of myself for making healthier choices and I am hoping that when my kids see my example, they will follow. I feel so much better just doing healthy things for my body. Now if I could just get on track with taking vitamins. I wish they didn't make me so darn sick.

So I haven't worked out in who knows how long. Even after my last post saying I was going to do it no matter what, I didn't do it. How big of a loser am I? Ugh. It seems that every time I commit myself to working out, I always find a reason not to. It's not that I don't love the benefits, it just seems there are more "important" things...my husband, my kids, errands to run, house to be cleaned. Always something to put before myself. I've always been that way. Always been a giver. I stress so much, especially during this time of the year. It's hectic and I've been going non-stop. I am feeling it in my body, for sure. Today I have had a rough day. I've been so stressed that I feel pain in my chest and across my upper back. I'm shakey and just feel downright awful. Nonetheless, there are things to get accomplished before bedtime tonight. My house is a disaster. I really really need help. My husband can't help because he's at work. Then when he gets home, he's not going to want to help because he'll want to spend time with the kids. There's just no time for anything anymore with everything I have to do. It's so stressful. I want to lose weight and feel good.
Speaking of feeling good, I realize I am getting older. At this point in my life I have got to get into good shape. It only gets harder the older you get and I don't want to be this weight for the rest of my life. I know that I will end up with high blood pressure and all the issues my parents have. I don't want to have to take any more medications than I already take.
After Christmas, I fully intend to kick myself in the butt and force myself to get back to exercising. I've got to do this for me, for once in my life.
Good news: I haven't gained any weight, despite eating my body weight in pizza last night. Or maybe something's wrong with my scale? Should probably check that out.

We are leaving for New York tomorrow. My husband has to make a trip there for work and then we're going to try and make a trip to Niagara Falls. Should be interesting since they are supposed to get another foot of snow. I'm not looking forward to the trip because I know I'll eat horribly and won't get a good workout the entire time I'm gone. Oh well, it could be worse, I guess. We could be one of those families who never goes anywhere.
Let's be honest, though...I haven't really been eating that well even when we haven't been on vacation. There are cookies everywhere, it seems and it's just easier to go to a fast food place for lunch. I was also supposed to work out this morning, but my son woke up sick and I took him to the doctor instead of getting my usual 30 min on the treadmill and my weight training session done. So maybe when my hubby gets home, I can do it then. It's so hard when you have kids. I wish I would've gotten myself into great shape when they were smaller and it was easier to find the time. Now that they're on the go so much, it's almost impossible to find that "me time" I so desperately want/need.
